Grounded Growth is a beautiful and functional sculpture that will serve as a bike rack for park visitors. Designed and fabricated by Dunwoody artist Huelani Mei Fogleman, Grounded Growth is located near the Great Lawn and Amphitheater. Grounded Growth consists of three flowers that are 10 to 15 feet in height. The centers of the flowers are made of recycled bicycle wheels. Eight individual bike rack leaves surround the stems, and each can secure at least two bikes.
Across from Grounded Growth is sister sculpture, Grounded Gathering. Grounded Gathering is a 15-foot sculpture that features seating for 16 along flower petal benches, plus a single artistic flower.
“As an artist and local resident, I understand the importance of increasing public art in our community. “I believe that Grounded Growth will have a positive impact on residents and visitors of Dunwoody by providing a beautiful and useful sculpture to our neighborhood,” said Fogleman. “This sculpture reflects the welcoming diversity our city offers, while being a true depiction of the constant growth and motion Dunwoody encompasses.”
