Officer Inside Patrol Vehicle Cabin

Get a firsthand view of how police officers serve the citizens of Dunwoody.

The Ride-Along program gives citizens a unique opportunity to learn about the daily challenges and risks that officers face while protecting the community. Citizens also get a firsthand view of how police officers serve the citizens of Dunwoody and have an opportunity to interact with a uniformed police officer to ask questions, discuss issues, and voice concerns.

The Dunwoody Police Department is committed to establishing and maintaining close ties with citizens and promoting a realistic understanding of how community needs are being addressed by the department. A ride-along program is a great way to do this.

At times, it is very difficult to explain to people the exact duties of a police officer and the complex nature of the job. Giving citizens the opportunity to ride along with an officer is very eye-opening. -Police Chief Mike Carlson
