The department's Crime Comparison reports provide a snapshot comparison of crimes, call data, and workload statistics by month.
Each month, the Dunwoody Police Department submits crime statistics to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Program. The NIBRS Program began in 1989 to capture all offenses within an incident.
The NIBRS Program focuses on 24 offense categories made up of 52 specific crimes called Group A offenses. In addition, there are 10 Group B offense categories.
The Dunwoody Police Department's Crime Comparison Reports track the offense categories of: Murder and Non-Negligent Manslaughter; Forcible Rape; Robbery; Aggravated Assault; Burglary; Larceny-Theft; Motor Vehicle Theft; and Arson, as well as call data and workload statistics.
These reports provide a snapshot comparison of these crime statistics reported both by month, year-to-date, and a comparison over previous year-to-date.
