The City of Dunwoody Economic Development Department is showcasing the potential of transforming vast parking lots into vibrant gathering places, thereby attracting people to the area for business retention and development. For the first Activate the Asphalt event, Renasant Bank on Dunwoody Village Parkway is allowing the City to use its underutilized back parking lot for a public art community involvement event.

Tuesday, November 7 - Art Commission considers the Activate the Asphalt Public Art Application
Thursday, November 9 – City of Dunwoody barricades parking lot and places picnic tables, lights, and signs on lot. Organizations/artists can submit drafts of artwork for tables and paint tables.
Saturday, November 11-17 - Prep parking lot - cleaning lots and outlining murals.
Saturday, November 18 - Community Paint Day - Volunteers sign up for 2-hour shifts at 10am - 12pm or 2pm -4pm - 20 slots each.
Saturday, December 2, time (tentative) – Community Event and Public Art Unveiling - Participants decorate discarded carboard boxes to drive, fly, or ride through the maze.
