Floor Loom Weaving- Designing Colorful Warps

In this class, we will focus on designing the warp as you sley the reed allowing you to play around with colors in your warp. By learning to dress the loom front-to-back (F2B), you will learn to control your warp colors. F2B is great for warps with repeating colorful stripes and great for combining multiple hand-dyed warps. Once proficient in this method, you may find the F2B method of dressing your loom faster than back-to-front (B2F).

After sleying the reed, you will then thread the loom from the back of the loom and finish winding the warp onto the back beam so that you can begin to weave.

Whether you are an experienced weaver who just wants a refresher on F2B warping, or someone who has never tried F2B warping, this class is appropriate for you.

Each student will have an individual design session with the instructor prior to the first session to discuss project options so that they can bring in their warp chains on the first session.

Prerequisite: Students must be comfortable winding a warp independently because they will need to come into class with their prepared warp chains.
