Creating Dazzling Hand-Dyed Warps and Wefts

In this class, you will learn how to prep cellulose yarn for dyeing; how to create warps that have regular color repeats; how to create more painterly warps by using multiple smaller sections’and how to dye yarns for the weft that will pool*. (Note: Pooling is not guaranteed, as it involves math and luck).  You will also learn how to mix the primary dye colors to create any color you want.

Whether you are an experienced weaver who just wants to learn more about dyeing warps or someone who has never dyed a warp, this class should be appropriate for you.

Prerequisite: Student must be comfortable winding a warp independently.

* See pictures for an example of weft yarn pooling.
