Originally practiced as a martial art, Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that strengthens the joints, improves circulation and rejuvenates the mind.
Level 1 Tai Chi is an introductory class that teaches foundational exercises essential to any tai chi practice including posture, body alignment and balance. Class begins with warm-up stretches to improve range-of-motion and a "Tai Chi Flow" sequence that reinforces tai chi basics and fundamentals. Students will apply these fundamentals into a short, compact form called the "Tai Chi 10 Form." Level 1 Tai Chi is taught in an 8-week series, but students can try a class anytime.
Classes meet under the Large Pavilion or on one of the fields next to it.
