Teen Police Academy
The Dunwoody Police Department welcomes teenagers ages 14-18 to attend this FREE 5-day course that is designed to give participants an inside look at local law enforcement operations and challenges.
Dunwoody Police Department is proud to announce our Inaugural Teen Police Academy. The Teen Police Academy is a FREE, 5-day summer program that will take place June 1st through 5th from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The program is available for teenagers ages 14-18. The class is limited to 20 participants and Dunwoody residents will have first priority in the acceptance process. If we have space available, we will open it up to non-residents.

- Teen Risky Behavior
- SWAT Team Presentation
- Tour of 911 Center
- Tour of DeKalb County Jail
- Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events
- First Aid
- CPR/AED Training
- Situational Awareness
- Traffic Stop Presentation/Scenarios
Who can participate?
City of Dunwoody residents will have first priority in the acceptance process. All completed documents in the application packet should be submitted by May 15, 2020. Should there be any openings after May 15, 2020, applicants who reside outside of the City of Dunwoody will be considered.
Applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal history check and a driving record check prior to being accepted as Teen Police Academy students.

All completed documents in the application packet should be submitted either in person at the Police Department’s front desk or scanned and emailed to Community Outreach Officer Anwar Sillah at email@example.com. Completed applications can also be mailed to Dunwoody Police Department, 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338. Accepted applicants will be notified by email and/or phone.
