Dunwoody Club at Jett Ferry Road Intersection Improvement Project

Dunwoody Club at Jett Ferry Road Intersection Improvement Project

The current intersection at Dunwoody Club and Jett Ferry is controlled by a four-way stop sign.  Between 2014-2017, there were 44 accidents within the project corridor, including 40 accidents at this intersection.  A majority of the accidents were angle collisions at the four-way stop.

Two concepts were developed with the goal of increased safety and improved efficiencies at this intersection.  The first concept creates a roundabout; the second concept installs a traffic signal and adds left turn lanes into the adjoining retail centers. There is not a considerable cost difference between the two concepts.

The cities of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody hosted an Open House in February 2018 to present the design concepts being considered to improve traffic efficiency and safety.

Comments and feedback from this meeting will be incorporated as the concepts are reviewed and a preferred concept is determined and finalized for presentation to the City Councils for both Dunwoody and Sandy Springs at a later date.
