The City of Dunwoody recognizes development as being any activity associated with the conversion of land; expansion or replacement of an existing use to any new use intended for human operation, occupancy or habitation, such as land disturbance and the construction of improvements (i.e. streets, driveways or parking area, water sewer mains, stormwater drainage facilities, sidewalks or other structures permanently placed in or on the property; and subdivision of property.

Minor Commercial and NEW Residential Home Land Disturbance Projects:

Commercial projects that do not include any work in the right-of-way, have less than 1 acre of disturbance, and are adding less than 5000 square feet of impervious surface qualify as minor land disturbance projects.  The decision whether a project will ultimately be considered minor or major is at the discretion of City staff.  For all minor land disturbance projects, please complete the Construction Permit Application along with the Site Plan Checklist.

 

Subdivision and Non-Residential Projects:

Projects that do include any work in the right-of-way, have more than 1 acre of disturbance, and are adding more than 5000 square feet of impervious surface qualify as major land disturbance projects.  The decision whether a project will ultimately be considered minor or major is at the discretion of City staff.  For all major land disturbance projects, please complete the Land Disturbance Permit Application below.
