Comprehensive Plan - Final Version (as transmitted to ARC and DCA - June, 2010)

A comprehensive plan outlines a framework for development of an area recognizing the physical, economic, social, political, aesthetic and related factors of a community. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan will shape the City of Dunwoody’s future for years to come and guide decision-makers in managing future growth, promoting sustainable economic development, and preserving the landscape and way of life.  This plan is the culmination of a year of extensive and meaningful community involvement and tireless hours of volunteer and staff contribution. On June 14, 2010 the Mayor and City Council unanimously voted to transmit Dunwoody’s inaugural Comprehensive Land Use Plan to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Department of Community Affairs for their regional review.

ARC performs its review and comment responsibilities to accomplish two basic goals:

1. Facilitation of intergovernmental coordination

2. Cooperation and conformance with regional plans and policies

Following the ARC and DCA review, the Mayor and Council will consider any suggestions from these agencies and then consider formally adopting the plan.

Moving forward, the City looks forward to continuing the partnerships that have been forged in this planning process to successfully implement the plan moving forward. The City of Dunwoody would like to thank all citizens that provided input and participated in the process of developing this plan.
