Criminal Investigations Division
The Dunwoody Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of one Sergeant, five Detectives, one Crime Scene Technician and one HIDTA agent. They are responsible for investigating serious crimes against persons as well as property crimes, normally referred to as Part 1 crimes. In addition, Detectives are responsible for the investigation of other crimes including credit card fraud, bad checks, and similar crimes. The Detectives are on-call and assist the Uniform division when requested.
A full time Crime Scene Technician is also located in criminal investigations. The technician is responsible for the recovery of evidence and the methodical processing of crime scenes.
