Community Development
The Community Development Department is responsible for working with the
citizens of Dunwoody, Boards and Commissions, the development
community, and the elected officials while managing current and
long-range planning, land development, building construction, and code
compliance.
Police Department
The Dunwoody Police Department is committed to engaging the community in
partnerships to reduce crime and disorder and improve the quality of
life for the citizens of Dunwoody. They will accomplish this by
practicing a community policing philosophy throughout the organization.
The Dunwoody Police Department is dedicated to getting to know the
community they serve and for the community to get to know them through
their day-to-day contact and the various community outreach programs
they have now and will adopt in the future.
Human Resources
The Human Recourse Department’s mission is to provide outstanding
customer service and stewardship of resources in attracting, selecting,
and retaining a high-performance, diverse workforce.
Finance and Administration
The City of Dunwoody Finance and Administration Department is
responsible for all financial operations,
contract administration and physical plant, administrative and facility
services and coordinating the annual audit. The department’s mission is
to provide all stakeholders in a transparent and efficient manner with
professional, courteous and reliable services that are timely and
accurate.
Municipal Court
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of State law and
local ordinances that occur within the city limits of Dunwoody.
These violations include most traffic related violations and some
misdemeanors charges such as:
- DUI

Shoplifting less than $300.00
- Possession of marijuana, less than 1 oz.
Municipal Court adjudicates most infractions that violate state law, as
well as violations of local ordinance.
Public Works
The Public Works Department is committed to providing high quality and
responsive service to the residents and business owners of Dunwoody. The
On Call and Maintenance staff strives to respond to citizen and
community requests in a professional and timely manner.The City also
works closely with the Georgia Department of Transportation, the Atlanta
Regional Commission, and DeKalb County Public Works Transportation
Division to assure that roads within Dunwoody are maintained and
improved.
Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide
the residents of Dunwoody with the highest quality parks, recreational
services and green space to enhance the quality of life to our
community. The City of Dunwoody manages seven major parks with combined land space of
over 167 acres. Two of the City's parks are currently under
development. These parks are home to several major events each year and
offer a variety of activities including skating, tennis, and more.
Economic Development
The City's Economic Development Department is responsible for leading efforts to retain, expand and attract businesses
to Dunwoody that support a broad array of employment opportunities; strategically
grow its knowledge-based economy; and expand the City’s tax base.
